CLOSE-IN AIR DEFENCE SYSTEM (CIADS) The system provides Close-In Air Defence against air targets with coverage in all launch sectors with a high rate of fire. Capable of interleaving firings against multiple threats to provide the best protection against incoming threats. SECONDARY GUN Port and starboard secondary gun systems incorporating a maximum and minimum firing range which supports effective engagement of surface boat threats and boarding operations. RECONFIGURABLE MISSION BAY Large mission bay space supports secondary missions and offers flexibility and adaptability to meet future requirements. ACCOMMODATIONS Our Bid Concept Design exceeds required accommodations at the required standard, with associated stores and hotel services with minimal change. This is achieved while delivering full HVAC and electrical load. COMBINED DIESEL ELECTRIC OR GAS (CODLOG) PROPULSION Uses diesel generators for electric power and vessel propulsion in cruising mode and gas turbine for high-speed propulsion. Mounting systems and acoustic enclosures result in a low level of acoustic emissions, making the ship difficult for opposing forces to detect. TOWED SONAR Low Frequency Active and Passive Sonar system provides wide area, underwater battlespace surveillance. AVIATION SYSTEMS Fully capable of operating Canadian Forces maritime helicopters and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.
