Going green is an initiate that all industries and sec-
tors are trying to implement. This policy is not new but
one that is growing at a rapid pace. Even in the defence
sector, environmental stewardship and managing envi-
ronmental sustainability are ways of greening defence.
The Department of National Defence (DND) and the
Canadian Armed Forces have developed an integrated
strategy for energy and environmental management
called the Defence Energy and Environment Strategy
(DEES) to green its defence.
