n continuing our theme on the Canadian Surface Combatant, we
publish here an interview with Scott Leslie, Director General, Large
Combat Ship Construction Sector at Public Services and Procure-
ment Canada (PSPC).
Scott is responsible for all procurements relating to the National
Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS) Combat Package, including the Arctic and
Offshore Patrol Ship and Canadian Surface Combatant projects.
Scott began his career in1984 in what was then the Department
of Supply and Services as a contracting officer, and he spent ap-
proximately 15 years working on military and security related
procurements before moving to IM/IT and telecommuni-
cations procurement as a supply manager.
In December 2010, Scott was appointed director
general of the newly created Marine Sector with
responsibility for leading the implementation
of the NSS.
