6FEBRUARY/MARCH 2025 www.vanguardcanada.com S SIT REP New Facility for 21 Electronic Warfare Regiment Underway at CFB Kingston A New Chapter for ITPS Canada: Leadership Transition Announced In a new development for Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Kings- ton, a new facility for the 21 Electronic Warfare Regiment (21 EW Regt) has been announced. Mark Gerretsen, Member of Parliament for Kingston and the Islands, representing the Honourable Bill Blair, Minister of National Defence, made the announcement January 13, 2025. The upcoming facility, with a budget of $98 million, will span 8,350 square meters. It aims to centralize various units within CFB Kingston into a single, secure compound. This consolidation is expected to enhance operational efficiency and foster better collaboration among the regiment's squadrons. The two-story structure will house new classrooms and administrative offices, providing the nec- essary infrastructure for improved training and operational planning. Set to become operational in 2028, the new building will significantly enhance the regiment's capabilities. It will support the training and deployment of electronic warfare personnel, manage and maintain the unit's equipment, and of- fer comprehensive support for electronic warfare operations. The International Test Pilots School (ITPS Canada) has un- veiled a significant shift in its leadership, signaling the start of an exciting new era in flight test training and education. Giorgio Clementi, who has served as ITPS Canada's Presi- dent and CEO for decades, will transition into the role of Ex- ecutive Chairman and Head of Engineering as of January 24. In this new capacity, Clementi will concentrate on steering the long-term vision of the organization and overseeing gov- ernance. Taking over the reins as Chief Executive Officer is Dave 'Loshy' Lohse, previously the Vice President of Flight Test at ITPS Canada. With extensive expertise spanning both flight test operations and tactical training, Lohse brings a forward- thinking approach and a commitment to innovation. His di- verse experience uniquely equips him to lead ITPS Canada into a new phase of growth while continuing to build on the solid foundation established by Clementi.
