A front-line warship, the FREMM has been applauded for its high versatility and flex- ibility. The vessel comes heavily armed with the Herakles multifunction radar and Aster 15 Missiles. Also from DCNS and Fincantieri is the Horizon Class Frigate. The vessel is designed for rapid deployment, attaining a maximum speed of 29 knots with LM 2500 engines. The frigate weighs 7,000 tonnes and comes equipped with Aster 15 Missiles. DCNS has also designed the La Fayette class frigate. Originally known as "stealth frigates," the La Fayette class has a reduced radar cross section due to sloped sides and a radar-absorbent coating. Combat Systems Integrator: DCNS SA and Selex ES.S.p.A thyssenKrupp Working together with Lürssen, Thys- snKrupp has developed the F-125 Frigate. Equipped with stealth technology and long maintenance periods, the frigates have an average sea operation time of over 5,000 hours per year, even in tropical conditions. Weighing in at 7,200 tonnes, the F-125 is the largest class of frigates worldwide. ThyssenKrup's second offering is the Blohm+Voss MEKO A-200 Frigate. Designed with versatility for sustained operations, the Blohm+Voss MEKO A-200 is equipped to handle all weather conditions. The ship is designed with economics in mind, operating for most of its life on a single engine in the diesel- only mode. Combat Systems Integrator: Atlas Eelecktronik GmbH dcns sa Having designed an integrated combat sys- tems for the French Navy, DCNS is offering their SETIS integrated combat management system. The system provides a complete spectrum of warfare capabilities through the use of open architecture, sensors, weapons and communications systems. selex es ATHENA, Selex's Combat Management System, uses integrated sensors and effec- tors to process data, providing situational awareness above and under water. The system also supports battle management functions, including anti-air/surface/ submarine warfare, naval firing support and aviation support for UAV, helicopters and aircrafts. atlas elektronik gmbh The ATLAS Integrated Mission System (AIMS) by ATLAS Elektronik is a modular system that meets the basic requirements of an offshore patrol vessel (OPV). The system includes an integrated bridge system for ship handling as well as full integration of special operational capabili- ties for various modules, including coastal protection, hydrography and underwater reconnaissance.
