Jody Thomas, who is currently the Commissioner of the Canadian Coast
Guard, will move to the position of Senior Associate Deputy Minister of Na-
tional Defence effective March 13, 2017.
Jeffery Hutchinson, who currently holds the position of Deputy Com-
missioner, Strategy and Shipbuilding, Canadian Coast Guard, will become the
Commissioner of the Canadian Coast Guard effective March 13, 2017.
Nancy Chahwan, who is the Assistant Secretary, Government Opera-
tions Sector at the Treasury Board Secretariat, will move to Deputy Com-
missioner of Revenue, Canada Revenue Agency effective March 13, 2017.
John Hannaford, currently Foreign and Defence Policy Advisor to the
Prime Minister, Privy Council Office, now serves in this position at the deputy
minister level.
During the announcement, the Prime Minister took the opportunity to con-
gratulate
Bill Jones, Senior Associate Deputy Minister of National De-
fence, on his upcoming retirement from the public service, following a distin-
guished career marked by dedication and excellence in serving Canadians.
On February 8, 2017, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced
the following changes in senior ranks within Public Service.
