T his November, the Best Defence Conference will be bringing together some of the most captivating technology from international and Canadian companies across the country. It is one of Canada's must- attend defence and advanced manufacturing events that will open networking avenues between primes and small and mid-sized enterprises. Hosted by Pilot Hill Ltd, the Best Defence Conference is entering it's sixth year. This year's Technology Showcase promises to be better than ever. The showcase will be presenting Canada's most novel and innovative tech com- panies that range on a plethora of defence topics. From the latest in drone technology, to sonar imaging, 3D printing, and cyber-attack prevention tech- nology, this year's showcase is a sure hit. "The companies that were selected for this year's Tech Showcase have some truly compelling technology," says Heather Pilot, President, Pilot Hill Ltd. "Some of the companies are already being noticed and growing quickly, while others are new to the defence sector and to market. It is particularly rewarding to work with these companies to get them the recognition they deserve." Companies are nominated and then selected by a panel consisting of Chris Baird & the BCIP team, Peter Studer of CFN Consultants, Ken McConnell of FedDev Ontario, Ben Cecil of the Canadian Centre for Product Validation, and Heather Pilot of Pilot Hill Ltd. "The best outcome will be if the companies in the showcase are able to connect with key people to advance their company and technology, to find manufacturers of their products (if required) and to be able to conduct busi- ness as a result of the platform," says Pilot. The following companies will be gaining an audience at the Best Defence Conference in London, Ontario at the London Convention Centre on November 1-2. As was done last year, each company will do a four-minute pitch to the audience to explain their innovations to the Canadian defence community. Pilot Hill Ltd. is currently accepting nominations for novel process or unique technology for the Best Defence 2018 Technology Showcase. Sponsored by:
