I recently read a great book called "How to Fly a
Horse," written by the inventor of the term "Internet
of Things," Kevin Ashton. Opening with an anecdote
about the Wright brothers trying to figure out how to
essentially "fly a horse," it debunks our common be-
liefs about creativity and innovation. When reviewing
some of the world's greatest innovative breakthroughs
– the instant the Wright brothers took flight, when
Einstein came up with the theory of relativity, or when
Thomas Edison harnessed electicity to make light –
we oen romanticize those moments like a Hollywood
production. But the reality of those innovative break-
throughs diers immensely from the way most of us
imagine them.
