The system has been used in operations both at home and abroad and now serves as the framework for the development of new smart city and public safety solutions. This same approach will be used to efficiently transfer mature tools and existing ISS- ready solutions from Australia to Canada – creating a new Cana- dian supply chain for naval services. INNOVATIVE SYSTEMS INTEGRATION & SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT Thales' proven ability to effectively integrate complex systems is relied upon by its customers. As a Tier 1 partner of choice to Seaspan, Thales is supporting Canada's non-combatant National Shipbuilding Strategy as a key electronic systems integrator for the Royal Canadian Navy's Joint Support Ships and all platforms greater than 1000 tonnes for the Canadian Coast Guard. Thales' work takes place in its Maritime Integration Lab located in Ottawa and at Seaspan's Vancouver Shipyards where it's leading the elec- tronic systems integration onboard Canada's three new Offshore Fisheries Science Vessels (OFSV) with components supplied from seven different provinces across the country. In addition, the Thales Commander C3 solution is in operation with the Royal Canadian Navy and Canadian Coast Guard to pro- vide a comprehensive maritime picture made up of more than 70 systems under the Interdepartmental Maritime Integrated Com- mand, Control, and Communications (IMIC3) project. Whether the task is search and rescue, coastal surveillance, asset protection, anti-piracy, or interdiction, this advanced commercial technology provides a comprehensive maritime mission management system. Thales' Tactical Battlefield Management System (TBMS) devel- oped under the LCSS contract was designed by soldiers for sol- diers. Another example of a successful systems integration solu- tion, TBMS provides an intuitive interface to the user based on modern navigation and the application of the latest gaming tech- nology. TBMS is optimized for usability, is intuitive, responsive and adaptive. It offers timely tactical information designed for a dynamic, mobile environment. TBMS is the next generation of battle management, offering sol- diers a touch interface software application that can be deployed on a wide range of mobile devices integrating digital battle maps, situ- ational awareness, communications and sensor systems, enabling soldiers to make mission critical decisions quickly and effectively.
